 Grants Awarded

Each year, Wade's Charity gives grants totalling around £100,000. This is usually awarded to approximately 50 or more applicants making an average grant in the region of £2000. In recent years, grants have varied from a few hundred pounds to several thousand, depending upon need. Trustees resolve to make a difference remains paramount and all applicants must demonstrate that they fulfil the charitable criteria of Wade's Charity and also that the funding will be used for maximum benefit.

Grants are made to organisations operating throughout the beneficial area, sometimes at a very local level and others on a city-wide basis.  Geographically, projects operating city-wide continue to receive a greater number of grants, but applications are welcome from all areas of the City to ensure no particular area is either under or over represented.

Voluntary Action Leeds - Small Grants Programme

A small grants programme has been operating through Voluntary Action Leeds for many years. This programme enables small community groups who may not be a registered charity to apply for funds of up to £100 to contribute towards their administrative costs. These grants were restricted for the first time in 2006 to organisations with an annual income of less than £10,000. VAL advertises this grants programme in their newsletter at the start of each year. Applications for these grants must be made directly through VAL.
